Common Problems, Manners & Rehabilitation
All of our training, consulting, and rehabilitation are done in the same type of program. The first session is an assessment, consultation and training session. This gives you a good working platform on why your dog is having these issues, how they see the world and learn and how we correct their behaviours. We do this because some problems are often misdiagnosed. Some issues are related to other issues, where the root of the problem is not addressed; therefore not fixing the issue and having it re-occur. There can be so many different variations of why the dog is having problems. Instead, you don’t have to keep going back, paying for additional training and wasting more time (which some unscrupulous trainers love $$$).
This is also why we don’t do puppy or obedience classes. Don’t get us wrong, these are good classes, especially for puppy socialization, as long as you have lots of certified trainers there to help, and it’s a proper run class.
Here is the problem we have with classes… We all have seen people take these classes and their dog still doesn’t listen, obey and has behaviour problems. Also, you are tied down on a contract for 6 weeks to attend, while life gets busy and you end up missing some classes. With classes, you are not properly coached or helped in troubleshooting because the trainer is helping someone else.
Example: 1 trainer and 8 people in a 60 minute class = 60 minutes divided by 8 people = 7.5 minutes a person per class, multiplied by 5 classes (as 1 class is usually done without your dog) = 37.5 minutes each person total. Even if you add another certified trainer (double the minutes), it’s still only 75 minutes.
Common classes cover basic obedience and training but do not focus directly on behaviour problems. People can end up trying to take the same type of class again later (maybe with a different company), resulting in another loss of time and money because they were not properly coached, trained, or explained things in the first place. Again, this is why we do it the Canine United way!
With Canine United we work to address all the problems, behaviour problems, and training and training problems that you are having, and teach commands and obedience, how dogs learn, behaviour, psychology, body signals and how and what the dog is trying to communicate and tell you. This gives you the ability to be the best pet owner and now have a life experience that you can use if you get another dog! Plus you won’t have to pay and go to training again, and can help your friends and dogs to make the world better for dogs and owners.
How The Program Works
This is a specialized exclusive service done in the comfort of your home on your time. To properly train, diagnose and assess a dog, we need to see the dog in its neutral home environment to see what the dog is doing and why, what is in the home environment, and other people in the house etc. It is also faster and easier for a dog to learn in their home environment, rather than a class or park with distractions and other stimuli, which saves you time, money, and frustration.

GOOD Based on 60 reviews Brandy Hamilton16 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I live in Invermere and one of my friends was raving about canine united, so as soon as I was in the lower mainland I contacted them about my dog. He was so nice and helpful and gave me new tools to help me and my dogs. Now they are doing so much better. He knew I would not be able to come back to Vancouver for some more training. He told me that i could call or zoom anytime for free to help out, and I have and it's been extremely helpful. You can tell he loves dogs and loves his job. It's really nice to see great customer service. We don't get to see much of that anymore. As soon as I am back in the lower mainland I will be seeing him again Dawn Hoch13 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I wanted to get some training for my dog because i started noticing increased behavioural issues. Ryan was able to pick up on a few things I never even considered. He suggested getting lab work and xrays if I thought it could be pain related. He suggested this before dumping a ton of money on training, and low and behold my dog had many things come up in xrays that the vet said he's likely in a lot of pain. After just one training session my dog is already doing better. I look forward to more training sessions with Ryan and have hopes that things will continue to change for the better. Thank you Ryan!! Tracy Johnson11 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently used the expertise of a dog trainer from Canine United Dog Services and I am so happy I did. I learned so much about how my dog, Chi reacts in certain situations. I learned about movement and how to teach my dog the best ways to avoid her reacting in ways that could be aggressive towards humans and other dogs. I have learned new skills as well that I'm sure will create an even better bond with my dog and I. I definitely recommend Canine United to those whom want to learn more about recall, reactive training and definitely knowing more about how and why your dog reacts in certain ways. I tested what I learned after and my dog Chi is already doing better! Tracy and Chi 🐾 Alice Turner7 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I love the private 1 on 1 training in my home way better than group classes. Ryan was amazing with my dog and our family. There were so many things in my home that were affecting my dogs behavior that I didn't realize. She is doing so much better now after the training. Thank you Ryan so much!!! :) Marleen Greeve4 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ryan is very caring, loves dogs and a great trainer. I am Jnglwmn30 June 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So pleased and satisfied with Ryan's expertise and knowledge of all things dog!! Currently this is the 2nd puppy Ryan has helped us with training and understanding. Having had several dogs in my life, all we had these many years were Obedience Classes. Well I am glad not to be going through that stressor anymore and the one-on-one instruction is far superior in my opinion.
